Overview
Dental Treatment facility is available in the hospital since the inception, in Jan 2014. The Dental Dept. is furnished with 2 Operatories that are well equipped with Two Dental Chairs from one of the best company dealers.
The Dental chair is attached with the Conventional Xray machine. The Dept. boasts of an OPG machine installed in June 2014, which is unique in the Karkala town. The Instrument sterilisation, Chair-side Sterilization, Surface disinfection etc. procedures are maintained strictly, and emphasized more during the Covid times, to avoid Cross infection.
The Faculty comprises of an MDS staff specialized in Pediatric Dentistry, a BDS staff, able to manage the general Dentistry, an Intern, a Technician, and an attender, available on all working week days.
All the Dental treatment needs are treated by the well qualified Dental faculty and the visiting Specialists.
- The Speciality visits are as follows
- Pediatric Dentistry ( for Kids) – All week days
- Orthodontics (Wire and braces) - 1st Tuesday of every month
- Periodontics (Gums specialist) - 2nd and 4th Saturday
- Endodontics (Root canal treatment) – Every Thursday
- Prosthodontics (Crown and bridge) - 2nd Tuesday of every month
- Oral surgery - 4th Friday of every month
- Dental Implant - On call
- Public Health Dentistry for Community based camps
The Dept. will soon be expanded with an additional Dental chair along with the RVG X-ray machine.
